Acquiring Works
The art market is opaque, relationship-driven, and — without the right representation — systematically disadvantageous to buyers. We exist to change that equation.
Primary Market
Gallery relationships determine access in the primary market. We maintain active relationships with galleries in New York, London, Los Angeles, Basel, and beyond — allowing our clients access to artists and editions that are not publicly available.
Secondary Market
Auction strategy is not simply knowing when to bid. It involves condition report review, estimate analysis, bidding strategy, absentee and telephone bidding logistics, and post-sale follow-up. We manage the entire process and negotiate private sale alternatives when appropriate.
Off-Market
Some of the most significant acquisitions come from private collections and estates — works that are available but never publicly listed. Our network of advisors, attorneys, and estate professionals surfaces these opportunities for clients with specific collecting interests.
Research
Before any significant acquisition, we conduct thorough provenance research, condition assessment review, and — when relevant — legal title investigation. Provenance gaps, restitution concerns, and export documentation are reviewed before any offer is made.
